New Museums for Siberia - a comprehensive training program for museum professionals in the Krasnoyarsk territory. The programme is implemented by the M.Prokhorov Fundation and the creative project group "Museum solutions" with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of Krasnoyarsky Area and the Krasnoyarsk Regional Research and Training Center of Culture. The programme started in 2010. Since then we have set the long-term objectives.
Objectives of the program:
Promote the development of museums in the Krasnoyarsk region and development of the area, using the potential of museums;
Promote professional growth and skills development of regional museums;
Promote the development of new methods and forms of museums with the public
Promote the Krasnoyarsk region as one of the leaders in the field of cultural policy and museum management.
Our target group – is museum community Krasnoyarsk, NGOs operating in the realm of culture, the different levels of administration, department heads and staff development department, curators.
New Museums for Siberia programme - is a system of progressive efforts to involve museums in the Krasnoyarsk region in a professional context, both in Russia and abroad, as well as support for regional museum initiatives. Annual programme is a combination of a variety of educational formats (workshops, lectures, master classes) to the regional as well as participation at the national and international conferences, forums, internships. The participants took part in the professional meetings in Moscow, St.Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, museum of the Netherlands.
One of the main priorities is to support new exhibits and educational programs in museums in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
In 2012, the planned educational seminars, presentation of the program at the Festival "Intermuseum" master-class with the participation of foreign experts. The main theme of 2012 "Museum audience and participatory culture in museums".
Representatives from 11 museums in the Krasnoyarsk region took part in the International Festival of Museums "Intermuseum 2012." Also there was a presentation of a special publication "Museum as a Space of Education: Game, Dialogue, Participatory Culture". Today we are looking forward the new programme in the museums of Berlin and Dresden.
